Shemar Barnes (he/him) is a proud advocate for social justice and the representation of marginalized communities. Prior to moving to Canada in 2019, Shemar volunteered to provide HIV/STI testing for LGBTQ students on campus.

He completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Fredericton and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from the University of Technology, Jamaica.

Shemar is an executive member of the Jamaican Association of Manitoba and sits on several City of Winnipeg boards.

Shemar is an avid reader and political enthusiast and enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
