Skye Wikjord
Research Assistant
Skye Wikjord (she/her) was born in Treaty 2, Roblin Manitoba and raised in Treaty 7, Medicine Hat Alberta. She is from Red River Métis and Ukrainian/Dutch heritage, a mother of two adult children, a somatic integration therapist and massage therapist, a passionate community Social Worker, and a lifelong learner. Skye is currently enrolled in the Master of Social Work Program in the Indigenous Knowledges program at the University of Manitoba.
Skye is passionate about doing research that supports women, children, and gender diverse people healing from gender-based violence, specifically sexual assault. She is excited to be working with the Village Lab as a research assistant/learner on the Indigenous HIV Doula project.
